Dr. Gossett explained to me his findings and gave me his professional opinion of what I would need in the way of lenses based on my correction and normal everyday activities.
Without to much chit chat he began one of the most thorough eye exams I ever had.
My wife and I have been seeing Doctor Gossett for about six years, primarily for routine eye exams and eyeglasses. We have always found him to be personable and efficient. His exams are thorough and he always explains what he is doing and the results in easy to understand terms. We have never had a problem getting a timely appointment. The clinic staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous. Our prescriptions have changed frequently and we were able to purchase quality eyeglasses and a fair price. We will continue to use Doctor Gossett's services.
We like to patronize fellow merchants in the Franklin, NC area. This was our first experience with Gossett & Ward. They were pleasant and professional, and expensive. An additional amount was requested several days after our appointment (insurance miscalculation) which brought the amount to approx. $1000 for a pair of glasses and 2 exams. (each $180) When the new glasses came in I observed that they were defective. (They reordered and refunded the extra amount they had called me about) The prescription G & W wrote for my wife was wrong resulting in 6 hours of driving and an unusable pair of glasses. (which a chain eye care store absorbed, luckily) In our case, the purported advantages of patronizing a local optometrist- personal service, quality control, and accuracy of prescription, negated any advantage over a 'chain'.
Exceptionally professional and attentive care.
It wasn't long till together we had chosen the perfect frame and lens.
I would say that from check in to check out and everything in between was professional and pleasant.
At check out the young lady was professional and offered me multiple ways to pay for my order.

The first impression as I walked in the door was "Wow, The office is so clean and well-maintained". One would expect a professional building to be clean but this office is spectacular! They have a really nice waiting area, very peaceful and relaxing. I was immediately greeted as I walked in the door. I noticed what appeared to be fresh flowers throughout the office. I am overly impressed with the professionalism of Dr. Gossett. Dr. Gossett certainly knows his practice. Never once did I feel uncomfortable and I was certainly enthused with my eye exam. I can't thank him enough to not only help me see better than I have in many years, but want him to know how much I appreciate him taking time to explain to me the reasons behind his recommendations - how I can better take care of my vision. I have been doing harm to my eyes and I didn't realize it because I didn't know the reasoning behind it. Now I know
The office was pleasant and the staff professional. They offered to file my health insurance as I have no vision coverage. I was offered lemonade and cookies while I waited. The wait was short and the technician took me to a private area to ask about my health history followed by a blood pressure check and eye pressure check. I was moved to the exam room and very quickly Dr. Gossett came in with a smile and a hand shake.
At that point his escorted me to a seat and let me know that someone would be with me to help make a selection. The Optician soon came in and we began looking at frames, she was quick to let me know if something I picked out was to large or small etc....
As a retired Certified Ophthalmic Assistant from a large office of Ophthalmologists in Florida I moved to beautiful Franklin North Carolina. Not much time had passed before I needed to update my eyeglass prescription. I wanted to use a local business, so I chose Dr. Gossett.
I must say working in the eye care field I know what to expect from an exam and was amazed at the thorough exam I had with Dr. Gossett. I would most certainly recommend him and his office staff to anyone.
